A Cup Liverpool FC Must Take: The Carling Cup

Shut up guys. Enough of the 4th place over Carling Cup nonsense. Here’s where I’m gonna be tackling loads of questions over Liverpool FC and winning the Carling Cup tomorrow.

Would you rather we take 4th place (Champions League spot) or the Carling Cup

Well, this is a really irrelevant question, if you ask me. The reality is, that this isn’t an ‘or’ question. I don’t see the problem with Liverpool FC winning both. Furthermore, it secures us a spot in Europe, although this is for the Europa League. I really don’t see why we can’t take both the Carling Cup, and the 4th place finish.

It’s a useless cup.

Oh come on! Liverpool FC have not won any silverware for 6 years now. And let me tell you one thing, there’s no such thing as a useless trophy. Even a play in the park is worth pride and glory. Noone really wants to lose face and lose. The fact is, that we got into a final that Chelsea, Manchester United, Man City and co. FAILED to get into. What they say is completely irrelevant and doesn’t make this cup final any less important.

The thing that I find the most important about winning this cup is the positivity that it will bring with it. Just remember how Arsenal FC’s season crumbled last season after they lost to Birmingham City in the final. They lost a majority of their games and simply lost their way in the second half of the season. This could be a catalyst for a fantastic finish to the 2011/12 season.
