Top 3 Liverpool FC Transfer Rumours of the Week: Week 3, May 2012

by backofthenet

The atmosphere around Liverpool has changed with the departure of manager Kenny Dalglish, and today’s transfer rumours come with a twist, with the added managerial section this week.

Who Will Replace Kenny Dalglish?

Personally, I’m going to go with The Independent on this, and say that it is going to be the now-ex Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas, whom was sacked by Chelsea mid way through this season after failing to control the personalities at Chelsea. With Liverpool, I’m sure that’s less of a problem, and he might just do well here. He’s looking for another high profile job to further his career, so this might just be a match made in heaven.

Bet365 are having odds of 7/4 on the Portuguese manager, whilst Roberto Martinez lies at the second highest possibility, with him being touted to have a 5/1 shot at the job. Rafa Benitez is said to have a 12/1 at re-landing the Anfield gig.

Rasmus Elm to Liverpool FC

Yeah. This one has been talked about for quite a few weeks now, but now it gets more interesting, because The Daily Mail claim that Liverpool are the hot favourites to sign the midfielder. Not sure if the departure of Kenny Dalglish changes things, but I reckon Liverpool might just complete this deal.

A quality midfielder, although I reckon Liverpool have enough quality in their midfield once Aquilani and Lucas Leiva return to the team. I think it’s really a striker/number 10 we need right now.

Mohamed Diame on a Free Deal

Rumours are flying around that Wigan’s Senegalese midfielder Mohamed Diame is set to move to Anfield in this summer on a Bosman deal, with him out of a contract in the summer.

Liverpool will still have to fork out quite a sum of money to afford his wages, with him rumoured to want a 60,000 pounds a week contract. More updates will follow on this deal.

TLFB are back with your weekly dose of Liverpool FC transfer gossip as the summer transfer window draws closer and closer. Here are the top 3 Liverpool FC related transfer rumours of the week.

Bojan Krkic (Roma to Liverpool FC)

Liverpool FC long time target Bojan Krkic looks available after admitting he wants showdown talks over his future. His contract with Roma has a buy-back clause which can see the Spaniard move back to Barcelona, but it is unlikely that the Catalan club see the young striker as a player they want to keep for the future.

This is what the 21 year old had to say about his current situation:

I’m hoping that the solution will be sorted in the next few weeks. My agent is working on the matter and I will make the decision on my future.

Krkic told Cope Radio

He would be good for the future, and with us having only 2 recognized strikers on the team, I think it’s most certainly worth it to invest in another striker, especially one of Bojan’s caliber.

Milos Krasic (Juventus to Liverpool)

Yes, another rumour linking a Serie A player to Liverpool FC. This here story is from TalkSport, and they claim that Liverpool are one of the frontrunners for the Serbian winger. The winger has only featured for Juventus on 7 occasions this season after following out with manager Antonio Conte.

Now a summer departure is almost inevitable and there is no shortage of clubs currently in the hunt for the 27-year-old, who joined Juve for around £13 million in 2010.

TalkSport

A winger, maybe that’s what we need, but I still think that we need a backup leftback, with Enrique shaky of late and Glen Johnson often sitting out injured (unavailable to cover if Enrique’s injured)

Hamit Altintop (Real Madrid to Liverpool)

According to Metro, Liverpool FC are chasing Real Madrid midfielder Hamit Altintop. He is seen as the short term replacement for the leaving Dirk Kuyt. The Turkish player is much like Dirk Kuyt, with him having the versatility to play a number of roles all over the pitch for Real Madrid (despite having not been selected regularly at the Bernabau outfit).

If rumours are to be believed, a fee in the region of 2 million pounds would be enough to take the midfielder to Anfield this summer. He has only made 5 appearances in the league this term.

As good old Woy Hodgson takes on the English managerial role, Li Ming discusses the top 3 Liverpool FC related transfer rumours of the week, and whether they would be good moves to make come the summer transfer window.

Pablo Armero (Udinese to Liverpool FC)

This story here is from Italian TV Station Mediaset, and it claims that Liverpool, along with Arsenal, AC Milan and Juventus are all chasing after Italian side Udinese’s left-back/left midfielder Pablo Armero for his services.

The defender/midfielder has been an absolute rock for the Italian side this season, with the Columbian managing a total of 28 appearances coupled with a solitary goal in the season thus far. His versatility is also there for everyone to see, with him being deployed in defensive midfield as well this season.

An 8 million would be required to secure the defender’s services.

Alberto Aquilani (Staying with Liverpool FC)

As AC Milan look increasingly likely to lose Alberto Aquilani back to Liverpool FC this coming summer transfer window, I can only see this as a positive sign, as I personally think that he’s the type of player that Liverpool need right now.

He’s managed 1 goal and an impressive 6 assists in his time with AC Milan, although most of the matches he has been involved with have been from the bench, or leaving him on the bench before the 90 minutes are up.

A great passer, and I’m looking forward to his return to Liverpool this summer.

Luuk de Jong (Twente to Liverpool FC)

According to Luuk de Jong’s agent, Liverpool are interested in the Twente striker, although it will be a tough task to persuade him to move to Anfield this coming summer. The 21 year old has had a splendid season thus far, and looks likely to feature for Holland at the EURO 2012 come this summer.

Everton and Everton are among the other teams monitoring the striker.

“Liverpool are following Luuk closely. But so are 15 other clubs,” Laros (agent) told Voetbal International. “Three big clubs that have qualified for the Champions League preliminaries have told us that they are ready to open talks with Twente.

Top 3 Liverpool FC Transfer Rumours of the Week: Week 4 April 2012

by backofthenet

As we head into this weekend’s game against Norwich City, I’m bringing you the top 3 Liverpool FC related transfer rumours of the week like every other week.

Gaston Ramirez

The story today is from Kopsourcewho quoted Mexican Sports journalist Jorge Zambrano:

Jackson is a player from another part of the world, and so the Liverpool board have already made a downpayment of 3 of the 9 million dollars, Now I can safely say that Jackson is a Liverpool player

Jorge Zambrano

According to the guys at Kopsource, they think that there is a high possibility of this happening, and there very well might. Although I do find it strange, because the article also mentions that the Reds might loan him out following this transfer. Will bring you more developments on this in our usual ‘Top 3 transfer Rumours of the Week’ column come Friday.

Our Post Earlier on in the Week

Alberto Aquilani to Return

It seems like Alberto Aquilani won’t be able to complete the 25 games required for him to make his stay in AC Milan permanent and he will return to Liverpool FC in the summer. The Milanese outfit seem intent on looking at other options and have limited the Italian midfielder the substitute performances from the bench this second half of the season.

Nothing much has been said about what happens should he return to Liverpool in the summer, but judging by the events in 2011, one wouldn’t be surprised if Aquilani is (finally) sold or loaned out (once) again. I would actually like to see him be given a chance after a refreshing season in the Serie A. He is the type that can make the impact and Kenny Dalglish should use him to his advantage.

Rasmus Elm

And the last story of note from this week is that Liverpool FC are interested in Swedish midfielder Rasmus Elm. The midfielder has impressed for AZ Alkmaar this season and has even managed a total of 12 goals thus far. The Daily Mail report that Liverpool are planning a 7 million pound move for the 24 year old come the summer transfer window.

Kenny Dalglish has had some scouts watch the midfielder over the past few weeks and this signals that Liverpool are perhaps preparing to make a move already. Watch the video below :)

It looks like Liverpool are set to name their first big name signing of the summer, and it looks likely that Jackson Martinez is set to move to Merseyside come the end of this season.

One more piece of news, and it comes from Milan. Aquilani is set to return to Liverpool in the summer, with the Italian giants preferring moves from others or quite simply not fielding the Italian midfielder. He is stuck on 21 appearances and is seemingly limited to appearances off the bench for the rest of the season (count as 1/2 of an appearance). The current deal stipulates that he has to make 25 appearances for AC Milan to make the deal permanent at a price of around 5 million pounds. Now it looks likely that Dalglish will loan him out again or maybe even cancel the contract on a mutual agreement.

Top 3 Liverpool FC Transfer Rumours of the Week: Week 3 April 2012

by backofthenet

It’s that time of the weekend, and as we get ready for the weekend and the game against West Brom, here are the top 3 Liverpool FC related transfer stories of the week.

Victor Moses (Wigan to Liverpool FC, 4-5 million pounds)

First up we have a story coming from TalkSport, and here it says that young Victor Moses from Wigan Athletic is interested in moving on from the Lactics, as his contract draws closer to expiry. His contract with Wigan ends summer next year and the youngster isn’t intent on extending his contract, meaning that Wigan should be looking to cash in on their right/left winger come this summer.

Victor Moses has played himself into a position where virtually every club in the Premier League want to sign him. All of the Premier League clubs will be strengthening in the summer and we are not surprised that Moses has been linked with virtually every team in the top division.

His Agent Tony Finnigan Told SuperSport.com

Liverpool FC have been interested in him for quite a while now, with Kenny Dalglish showing his interest in the Nigerian in the past. The Daily Mail claim that Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur currently lead the chase for the talented young winger.

4 Players (Nacional to Liverpool FC Trial)

Liverpool will hand trials to Rodrigo Amaral, Leandro Otormin, Gaston Pereiro and Daniel Baldi of Nacional as part of the deal which took Sebastian Coates to Anfield.

Kopsource

So there you have it. 4 talented players given an oppourtunity to impress the Liverpool FC scouts and managers. Do hope that they take the oppourtunity and go on and become world beaters.

Dan Smith (Crewe to Liverpool FC)

And now I finish up with a piece of news that is actually official. Liverpool FC have completed the signing of Crewe youngster Dan Smith right under the noses of Manchester City.

Liverpool sign highly-rated Crewe youngster Dan Smith after Manchester City deal breaks down

Liverpool have completed the signing of highly-rated Crewe youngster Dan Smith.

The north west clubs have agreed a fee in the region of £300,000 for the 16-year-old midfielder, who is the latest sought-after name to emerge from Alex’s famed youth production line.

The Independent

So that’s all from me folks. Looking forward to the game this weekend!

Top 3 Liverpool FC Transfer Rumours of the Week: Week 2 April 2012

by backofthenet

It’s Friday, April the thirteenth, and it’s that time of the week again. Here’s the top 3 Liverpool related transfer stories of the week.

Hernanes (Lazio to Liverpool FC)

We have a bit of news that Lazio are intent on cashing in on their Brazilian 26 year old. The midfielder is said to not be able to fit inside the midfield at Lazio given the characteristics of his game being much alike to his colleague Stefano Mauri. Hernanes has also lost his patience this season given the fact that he has been substituted out of the game on 20 separate occasions out of the 26 games that he has started this season for Lazio.

Hernanes is valued at roughly around 16 million pounds, with him commanding interest from the likes of Liverpool FC, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal FC according to The Daily Mail. He is versatile in the center of the midfield, as he can operate as both a playmaker or a box-to-box midfielder.

Alberto Aquilani (Liverpool FC to AC Milan)

This one not really a transfer rumour, but it seems as though it’s going to happen. A few months we reported that there was a clause in his loan deal with AC Milan that said that Milan could buy him for 6 million pounds at the end of his loan should he complete 25 games. AC Milan look intent on making the deal permanent as the Italian midfielder has completed his dues in the red and black of AC Milan, and it looks like there won’t be another summer long of discussion as to whether he stays of whether he blows.

I think it’s a pity that he’s living. Bags of ability, just can’t fit his game to suit the demanding and physical Premier League.

Dieumerci Mbokani (Anderlecht to Liverpool FC)

Anderlecht general manager Herman van Holsbeeck says he believes Liverpool want to sign their 26-year-old Congolese striker Dieumerci Mbokani.

Inside Futbol

Make you want of that, but he’s scored 9 goals in 16 seasons for the Belgian giants this season

That’s all I have for you today, stay rocking!
