Fulham vs Liverpool FC [MATCH PREVIEW]
Liverpool FC take on Fulham on Monday night at Craven Cottage, with the Reds coming in off a set of impressive results.
Positivity in the Liverpool FC Camp
Liverpool FC arrive from Liverpool with an impressive 3 game run which has seen them see off Chelsea FC twice at Stamford Bridge and hold Manchester City to a draw, an achievement that has only been matched by tomorrow’s opponents Fulham, all season so far. Kenny Dalglish will also be impressed by the rejuvenation of Argentine winger Maxi Rodriguez, with the player proving to be in the right place at the right time to help Liverpool beat Chelsea twice.
Craig Bellamy himself will be impressed with his personal form, with him providing 3 assists in his previous 2 matches, the Welshman delivering both goals against Chelsea FC in the Carling Cup, whilst doing the same once in the Premier League against the Blues.
Martin Kelly also brought forward his case for being in the first team with a solid display down the right flank for Liverpool FC in mid-week, although Glen Johnson has indeed been Kenny Dalglish’s first choice for the Premier League in recent weeks. Kelly scored with a simple glancing header in mid-week as well to boost his credentials ahead of this tie at Craven Cottage.
It will however be interesting to see what Kenny Dalglish will do in light of midfield destroyer Lucas Leiva’s absence, with the Brazilian midfielder being ultimately Liverpool FC’s ‘silent hero’ in recent weeks with dominating performances against Man City and Chelsea FC.
Confidence in the Fulham Camp
Fulham don’t seem to fear the bigger clubs, they even seem to relish the challenges that come with them. They drew with Arsenal just under a week ago, they’ve held Man City to a valiant 2-2 draw following a valiant comeback and they’ve even managed to hold Chelsea FC to a 0-0 stalemate for 120 minutes before losing out on penalties in the Carling Cup, so Fulham manager Martin Jol will certainly not be phased by the task at hand tomorrow night.
In Ruiz, Dempsey, Zamora and Andrew Johnson, the Cottagers have enough firepower to give Liverpool FC a worrying afternoon, with their attacks very devastating when all 4 of the mentioned players are playing alongside each other.
Fulham will hope to recover from their mid-week lost to FC Twente in the Europa League to try and nick the points off the Reds tomorrow night.
