Liverpool FC Looking to Offload Andy Carroll?

by backofthenet

Can Big Andy Outmuscle Stoke City?

Quite remarkable news coming in this morning, with reports coming in that Man City have rejected Liverpool FC’s exchange offer of Andy Carroll for Argentine striker Carlos Tevez.

The actual enquiry was made just 3 days ago on Thursday and comes almost a year after Andy Carroll was made Liverpool FC record signing after his 35 million pound move from Tyneside club Newcastle United. It is understood that the Reds asked how much the Manchester club wanted for him before offering the straight swap. Brian Marwood rejected the move from happening, although Mancini had openly admitted that he was a fan of Carroll previously.

This comes despite Kenny Dalglish’s praises aimed at the lanky Englishman following his performance in Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the 4th round of the FA Cup. Given his goal scoring record in his Liverpool career, it is hardly a surprise that the Merseyside outfit are willing to take a 10 million pound lost in taking the 20 million + rated Carlos Tevez instead.

It is also unlikely that Carlos Tevez would like such a move, given his recent off the field troubles. Furthermore, his history as a Manchester United player could further prevent this move. Carlos Tevez has been linked with moves to both AC Milan and Inter Milan, but there has been no concrete agreement as to where Tevez will be headed over the coming days.

So what do you guys think? Should Carroll stay or should he blow? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below! :D
