Thoughts on Brighton: An Easygoing Liverpool FC Match Preview
I’m back. Yes, it’s true. Sorry for not keeping this blog updated over recent weeks, been busy studying, and more recently, camping. So well, this is my basic summary of thoughts ahead of the Brighton match later today.
Well, first of all, I would simply like to talk about the signing on trial of Portsmouth defender Sam Magri. Apparently, Liverpool FC are looking into the possibility of signing the defender on a permanent deal should he impress the Reds enough. Personally, I haven’t honestly heard too much of this youngster, but he is off English and Maltese descent. He turns 18 years old this year and has even featured for the Young Lions on a number of occasions already. I’m excited for the potential that this kid could bring us come the near future.
All eyes will certainly be focused on the Carling Cup in Wembley come next week, but we must certainly look at the prospect of reaching and winning two pieces of silverware this season. It certainly isn’t a far-fetched idea.
Kenny Dalglish should field his second stringers for this one. I reckon maybe Suarez will be given some game time to boost his confidence, Bellamy will be rested for this one whilst Maxi Rodriguez will be given a chance to shine in the FA Cup encounter later on today.
Should be a tough match and I also think that our big striker up front Andy Carroll will be given a chance in this game. Kenny Dalglish doesn’t seem to trust him enough for the big games, eg. Manchester United, but it is likely that he will start, in a competition where he has had a rather impressive track record in. But what Liverpool FC will really need is to return to their consistent winning ways. Liverpool must forget about the Luis Suarez controversy and simply move on.
Will be watching the game, hope it’s great.
